Description
Depicting the 4m long, 10cm thick green bamboo as a serpent, Kurama Temple monks (Kuramaho-shi) in teams of two compete their speed of chopping. Monks in Benkei-hoods swing down their mountain swords to slay the bamboo in one go, fortunetelling the area's harvest for the year.
