Description
Dancers wearing masks of ogres and goblins ("oni") dance to large taiko drums and flutes. Held during the Higan holidays of Autumn at Kifune Shrine, this offering is for warding off crop threatening winds that come with the season. Both children and adults perform on yeas ending in odd numbers, and only children perform on years that end in even number.
