Description
Also known as Sapporo Festival, citizens of this northern city have been in love with it for over 100 years. Over 1,000 residents in traditional attire parade through the city streets with floats, led by a mikoshi carrying the spirit of the deity at Hokkaido Jingu Shrine. The scene looks like a scroll painting from the Heian Period.
