Description
A traditional festival held for approximately 1,200 years, born out of worship for Mt. Myoko. The festival features demonstration of Bojutsu (martial art of using a staff weapon) by men dressed as Yamabushi (Buddhist monks who train in the mountains), Mikoshi (portable shrine) procession and an offering of Sumo (traditional Japanese wrestling) matches.
