Description
This ritual, which has been going on since the Heian Era, features 6m tall Onusa (linen streamers attached to a long pole, used as a wand in grand purification ceremonies) that circle around the shrine grounds and are later tossed into the Ujigawa river along with any misfortune they may have collected in the process.
