Description
It is said that this festival was started as a way of showing appreciation to the ancestors who made Wajishima lacquer (urushi) so famous and profitable as an occupation 200 years ago. The citizens of Wajishima have continued the festival with the hopes of making the city a rich and easy place to live that is full of hometown love and solidarity.
